Power Pole Anchor Light
Power Pole Anchor Light
The Mealey Marine Power Pole Anchor Light is the pole-top all-around white light built specifically to keep your boat USCG-compliant when you are anchored down on a Power Pole at night. It mounts directly to the top of your Power Pole, sits above the hull line, and gives you the 2 nautical mile visibility the rules actually require.
It fits the Pro Series, Pro II, Blade Series, Sportsman, and Sportsman II. One light. One bracket. One way to do it right.

Why a Power Pole owner needs a real anchor light
A transom-mounted anchor light works fine when the boat is at rest with nothing else in the water. The moment you stake out on a Power Pole, the geometry changes. The bow can ride low, the stern can sit deeper, and the existing transom light is often blocked by the pole itself, the jackplate, the motor, or the angler in the back of the boat.
That is not a theoretical problem. That is the standard complaint. You think you are lit up. The other boat coming through the flat at 2 a.m. does not see you until the last second.
The Power Pole Anchor Light solves it by mounting on top of the Power Pole. When the pole is up, the light is up. When the pole is down and you are staked out for the night, the light is the highest point on the boat. That is what USCG navigation rules call for: an all-around white light visible from 360 degrees at a minimum of 2 nautical miles on a vessel under 50 meters at anchor.
What you get
- USCG-certified 2 nautical mile all-around white LED
- ABYC A-16 compliant
- 5052 marine-grade aluminum housing
- Textured black powder coat finish
- IP-rated waterproof construction
- 12 feet of marine-grade wire pre-wired into the bracket
- Waterproof heat-shrink step-down butt connector included
- Black oxide stainless steel mounting hardware
- Fits Power Pole Pro Series, Pro II, Blade Series, Sportsman, and Sportsman II
- Made in the USA
The light, the bracket, the wire, and the hardware are all in the box. You are not running a parts list to the marine store after it shows up.
Built for Power Pole specifically
Power Pole uses a defined cap and mounting boss at the top of the pole. The Mealey Marine bracket is machined to land on that boss flat, with no rocking, no shim, no zip-tie improvisation. The stainless hardware threads into the bracket so you are not relying on the cap itself to hold the light.
The wire exits cleanly down the inside line of the pole. The 12-foot lead gives you enough length to route into the rigging tube and into your nav-light switch without splicing in the middle of the pole. If you do need to cut and step down to your existing wiring, the included waterproof heat-shrink butt connector keeps the joint sealed against spray, rain, and saltwater.

Install in plain language
Most owners install this themselves in under an hour. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, a small wrench, heat for the shrink connector (a lighter or heat gun), and a way to fish the wire if your pole is not already pre-wired.
- Remove the cap or existing top hardware from the Power Pole.
- Set the Mealey Marine bracket on the mounting boss and align the holes.
- Drop in the stainless hardware and snug it down. Do not gorilla it. Snug is correct.
- Route the 12-foot lead down the inside of the pole and into the rigging.
- Connect to your existing anchor light switch circuit using the included heat-shrink butt connector. Red to positive, black to negative or ground.
- Apply heat evenly to the connector until the adhesive bleeds at both ends. That is a sealed joint.
- Turn the switch on. Confirm the light works. You are done.
If your boat has the Power Pole running off the same panel as the original transom anchor light, decide whether you want both lights wired in parallel or whether the pole-top light replaces the transom light on that circuit. Either is fine. The pole-top light is the one that actually keeps you legal when you are staked out.

Why owners replace the original light
The original lights that ship with most Power Pole installations are not built for long anchor sessions in salt and weather. The common failures we see and hear about are:
- Plastic housings that crack under UV after a season or two
- Bulbs or LEDs that dim long before the warranty runs out
- Mounts that loosen and let the light spin or droop
- Wiring that wicks water and corrodes inside the pole
- Lights that visually disappear behind the motor or jackplate when the pole is down
The Mealey Marine light is aluminum, powder coated, IP-rated, and built around the LED package and bracket that we have proven in our own shop on customer boats. It is not a generic anchor light with a Power Pole sticker on the box. It is a Power Pole specific solution.

FAQ
Does this fit my Power Pole Pro Series?
Yes. The bracket is machined for the Pro Series mounting boss. It also fits Pro II, Blade Series, Sportsman, and Sportsman II.
Does this fit my Power Pole Blade Series?
Yes. Blade Series uses the same top cap interface as the Pro Series at the mounting point. The Mealey Marine bracket lands flat and bolts down with the included stainless hardware.
Is it USCG compliant?
Yes. The light is USCG-certified as an all-around white anchor light visible at 2 nautical miles, which is what the navigation rules require for vessels under 50 meters at anchor. It is also ABYC A-16 compliant.
Is the install hard?
No. Most owners do it themselves in under an hour with a screwdriver, a small wrench, and a heat source for the shrink connector. The 12-foot lead is pre-wired into the bracket. The waterproof butt connector is in the box.
Is it bright enough to actually be seen?
Yes. The LED package is rated at 2 nautical miles by USCG standard. Mounted on top of the Power Pole instead of the transom, it is also higher and clearer than the original lighting on most rigs, which is the real reason most boats fail to be seen at anchor.
What is the warranty?
The light is built from 5052 aluminum, powder coated, IP-rated, and assembled in the USA. If something fails on us, contact us and we will make it right. For the Plash work light upgrade specifically, see the Ultimate Anchor Light page for the lifetime warranty terms.
